About Us

I've known about castor oil for years but because of the viscosity it is a sticky mess to work with so my use went from infrequently to never.   A few years ago I started noticing that way too much hair was ending up in my brush.  I knew castor oil would be an effective way to deal with it so I needed to find a solution.  I decided to try breaking it down with some organic avocado oil, which also has a lot of benefits. I also decided to add some essential oils for their benefits.

What I found was this beautiful blend that I incorporated into my haircare regiment but it was still messy.  So, I decided to try putting it into roller ball bottles for skin application.  It made it so easy to rub on my face, my neck and achy joints. 

I'm a big sharer who always has something that smells amazing in my purse.  I would let friends try it and they started begging for one of their own.  I kept having to make more.  We started selling that at my work and quickly sold out.  As a friend said "It's my favorite perfume that is also healing my body". Friends encouraged me to start an online business.

My daughter's name is Ananda Joy, which is so much cooler than mine.  So, Ananda's Botanicals was born.
